The Body of CHRIST is so awesome and generous.
Yesterday, our daughter Lauren went into hospital to have a cochlea implant.
THANK YOU. So many people sent notices of prayer and concern and many others sent financial support to cover the cost of the operation. THANK YOU and BLESS YOU.
We are so blessed by your kindness and want to say thank you so very much.
We pray that God will reward you and bless you for your love and care to Lauren, Riaan and Hannah.
Thank you for standing with us as a family.
Lauren went into hospital yesterday morning and had the 4 hour operation at 08;30.
She was born with severe congenital deafness. She excelled through school, and went onto to study. The challenge was being deaf, created a huge in so many areas. From work related challenges to simple every day communication.
I had no idea of the severity of the operation, until I watched on U-tube the full operation.
She had the cochlea implant behind her left ear, and if need be, then might have it done on the right side next year.
Praise God for the skill of the surgeons and nurse and thank God for the prayer of the saints.
She was concerned and stressed before going into theatre, but as soon as the anesthetist visited her she was calmed down and was ready for the op.
I praise God for Riaan - really a good husband. He,s taken a week off work to be with her and help her to recover.
Lauren came out of hospital this morning and will spend the next few days at home recouping and regaining her strength.
The implant will not be switched for a nearly 4 weeks. Then very slowly and over a period of time, will the cochlea be set to the volume she needs.
We are so excited to see her response for the first sound that she receives.
Her excitement is to hear the voice of Riaan hear the laughter of Hannah.
We cant express our gratitude and thanks to those who have made this possible.
As a Mother and Father, we have waited for 28 years to see God fulfill His promise of healing to Lauren.
PLEASE DO CONTINUE TO PRAY for her full recovery and no side affects from the cochlea.
Please do pray that her speech therapy will stress free and her progress will fast and that all future costs will be covered.
Please do pray that God touch Riaan, Lauren and Hannah and that the adjustments they need to make will easy and blessed.
Please do pray God will bless them and anoint them to accomplish all He has for them.
Once again, thank you so very much to all who contributed towards the operation of Lauren.
Yours in Christ
